INITIATIVES FOR SDGs

Zenken, which operates globally, is implementing various initiatives to help achieve the "SDGs" (Sustainable Development Goals), international goals for a sustainable society and environment worldwide by 2030, adopted at the UN Summit in 2015.

Implementing benefit-based US university scholarship study abroad programs

To create a future that "provides inclusive, equitable and quality education for all and promotes lifelong learning opportunities", Zenken implements and offers benefit-based US university scholarship study abroad programmes through its language education business.

Specific examples of initiatives

Our company, which operates a language business and provides study abroad services, offers the Benefit-based US University Scholarship Study Abroad Programme, which links students who wish to study at an American university with a benefit-based scholarship offered by an American university.
A number of universities participate in this scholarship programme, which provides at least 50% of tuition, accommodation and food costs, with no repayment obligation. In principle, the scholarships are awarded on an annual basis, providing significant financial support for those who wish to study in the USA (high school students, university students and adults in general).
This initiative is designed to provide high-quality educational opportunities to a diverse group of people who are expected to play a global role in the future.

Promotion of overseas IT human resources projects

The company focuses on the unavoidable social issue of a declining working population in Japan, with a particular focus on IT human resources, which are expected to be particularly tight. In order to solve this problem, we are promoting the overseas IT human resources business.

Specific examples of initiatives

The company has established Japan's first career centre in a university in Bengaluru, India's IT city, which is regarded as the world's leading producer of IT personnel. In addition to creating employment opportunities for talented Indian IT personnel, we also provide opportunities to learn Japanese. By creating new forms of employment in Japan, we will accelerate the 'global inbound' phenomenon, the internationalisation of Japan.
Currently, we provide support for recruitment to Japanese companies, including Japanese language education support for overseas personnel, introductions to employers, interviews and information sessions. We also provide support for overseas personnel to continue to be active and fulfilled in their work, from daily life support after arriving in Japan to follow-up on their retention at their place of employment.
In Japan, we promote awareness-raising activities, such as holding briefings and symposia on overseas recruitment for Japanese companies.
